Impact Foundation donors can now recommend Birgo’s Heartland workforce housing strategy from their Impact Accounts.
Birgo Capital announced today that Birgo Heartland Multifamily Fund V LP (Fund V) is now available on Impact Foundation. Fund V buys and operates Class B workforce apartment communities in Heartland markets, guided by Birgo’s mantra of Improving Lives Through Real Estate. Donors can find the fund in the Impact Foundation portal or on its public portfolio page.
“We built Birgo on the idea that well-kept, affordable homes are both good for the neighborhood and for returns, and we measure both. Impact Foundation donors want their capital to do lasting good, and we’re excited to partner with them to create that impact.”
Andrew Reichert, CEO, Birgo Capital
About Impact Foundation
Impact Foundation is a donor-advised fund built for impact investing. Donors open an Impact Account, give to it, and recommend where the money goes: loans to charities, limited partner interests in real estate, private equity or venture funds, or direct stakes in companies. Returns come back to the account, where donors can reinvest them or grant them to charity. Impact Foundation handles the paperwork, tax filings and compliance.
About Fund V
Fund V is a seven-year fund with a $100 million target and a $150 million cap. It buys and operates Class B apartment communities of 100 units or more, built from the 1970s through 2010, in Heartland markets with limited new construction and steady renter demand. Current pipeline markets include Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Louisville and Buffalo. Birgo’s principals are investing $5 million of their own capital alongside investors.
Fund V preserves and upgrades Class B workforce housing in underserved Heartland markets through responsible management. It aims to keep rents affordable relative to Area Median Income (AMI), so residents have safe, dignified homes.
