Director of Marketing

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Job Description

The Director of Marketing advances and expands Birgo’s efforts to improve lives through real estate by leading the marketing team to raise capital through the development and execution of a digital marketing strategy. This role also facilitates cross-departmental collaboration to attract and retain tenants and employees through effective branding and communication. Together we are working to reach $1b in assets under management by 2030.

Director of Marketing Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a digital marketing strategy to generate inbound equity investments, support investor relations, and to promote the Birgo brand 
  • Select and manage third party agency relationships to achieve organizational objectives
  • Oversee the creation of compelling content (white papers, blog posts, presentations, guest appearances, etc) that establishes Birgo’s credibility in the market and positions the company for ongoing growth
  • Review campaign analytics and outcomes to optimize the effectiveness of different strategies
  • Direct public relations, advertising and social media to create a cohesive and integrated platform to support company growth
  • Support Birgo’s CEO in “storytelling” efforts that convey our impact in the community and in the lives of tenants, investors, employees
  • Lead, manage and develop direct reports to achieve goals collaboratively
  • Other duties as identified to help Birgo improve lives through real estate

Successful Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 5-10 years marketing experience, including successful growth of a brand from inception to an established online presence
  • 2-4 years leadership and people management experience
  • Design and execution of influential content creation 
  • SEO and PPC experience (certifications preferred)
  • Experience with marketing retail financial services, financial technology or investment real estate products (strongly preferred)

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient with CRM systems (Hubspot CRM experience preferred)
  • Strong, adaptive interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Proficient in increasing brand recognition and driving revenue through eCommerce
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Excels in influence and persuasion via ad copy and other marketing assets
  • Demonstrable proficiency in people and team leadership and management

Director of Accounting

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Job Description

The Director of Accounting leads our Accounting team members and processes to support company growth by delivering world-class services to our tenants, employees, and investors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of scaling departmental operations in a high-growth company.

Director of Accounting Responsibilities

  • Skillfully scales department operations through leveraging technology, process improvements, outsourcing, and internal team development
  • Coordinates and ensures consistent execution on month-end close process
  • Reviews all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manages all inter-entity accounting issues among the properties, funds, and operating company
  • Produces financial reports and analysis for compliance and managerial purposes
  • Ensures all tax returns and audits are completed on time
  • Assists with investor relations and treasury management functions
  • Leads, manages and develops direct reports to achieve goals collaboratively
  • Other duties as assigned to help Birgo improve lives through real estate

Successful Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting and compliance requirements
  • 6+ years experience managing full-cycle accounting operations
  • 4+ years experience directing the work of others
  • 3+ years experience managing external audits and tax filings
  • Multi-entity environment experience (preferred)
  • Real estate industry experience (preferred)

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced people, process, project and time management skills
  • Power user of Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel
  • Software implementation skills (preferred)
  • Proficiency with AppFolio (preferred)

Recruiter

Job Description

This key role promotes Birgo’s brand in the community and manages the full recruitment life cycle across a variety of open roles seeking to grow the team with qualified individuals who embody Birgo’s values.

Recruiter Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with managers to understand the company’s hiring needs for each position 
  • Source and attract top talent through job postings, social media platforms, and relationships with schools, agencies and other community partners
  • Screen resumes and prospects; qualify, interview, and manage candidates throughout the interview process, offer acceptance, and orientation period
  • Foster influential relationships with qualified active and passive candidates to maintain a robust talent pipeline and to keep candidates engaged through the interview process
  • Partner with the People Team and senior managers to continually refine and implement innovative recruiting and hiring strategies and processes in light of trends in the talent landscape
  • Manages intern program by conducting orientations, scheduling placements, and advising managers on training and coaching
  • Support employee onboarding and special projects of the People team to make Birgo an exceptional place to work

Successful Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in recruitment or human resources
  • 1+ years’ experience in strategic talent sourcing

Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiar with Applicant Tracking Systems, Google Workspace, Personality Assessments
  • Effectively interface across multiple platforms (phone, video, in-person)
  • Keen discernment of candidates’ competence and company fit 
  • Strong public speaking skills 
  • Adaptive communication skills to reach diverse audiences 
  • Familiarity with the property management industry (preferred)
